Environment Day Painting Exhibition
A painting exhibition was organized by the School of Engineering and Technology of the Sushant University, Gurugram, in joint collaboration with the Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan, on the occasion of the World Environment Day on June 6, 2024.
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is a national program with the vision to involve the professional and other higher educational institutions of the country for the sustainable development of villages. It is inspired by the vision of transformational change in rural development processes by leveraging knowledge institutions.
The paintings in this exhibition were hand-drawn by the children of the faculty members and the staff of the University. The paintings depicted several issues pertaining to the environment and the environmental challenges that the world is facing today. These included recycling, food wastage, garbage disposal, plastics, climate change, ozone depletion, deforestation, water conservation and so forth. Along with high school students, children as small as first grade students also participated in this exhibition. The faculty and the staff were pleased to see their ward's arts getting publicly displayed and the talent of their children get an outlet through this medium. They praised the efforts of the organizers for this event.
The program was organized by Dr. Neha Gupta, an Engineering faculty member of the Sushant University, and the idea of the program was conceived was Dr. Bharat, the Dean of the School of Engineering. The program was conducted under the patronage of the Chancellor of the Sushant University, Mr. Jai Shankar Mishra, IAS (Rtd); Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rakesh Ranjan; and Pro-VC Dr. Sanjeev Sharma.
