Cyber Bullying Policy

“Bullying means systematically and chronically inflicting physical hurt or psychological distress on one or more students or employees. It is further defined as unwanted and repeated written, verbal or physical behavior, including any threating, insulting or dehumanizing gesture, by a student that is severe or pervasive enough to create an intimidating, hostile or offensive educational environment ; cause discomfort or humiliation; or unreasonably interfere with the individual’s college performance or participation ; and may not involved but is not limited to; teasing, social exclusion, threat, intimidation, stalking, physical violence, theft, sexual, religious, or racial harassment, public humiliation or destruction of property”

Cyber bullying means the bullying which is done through digital devices such as mobiles, computers/laptops or tablets via instant messaging, SMS, online social media platform or any online groups where people can share and exchange messages. Cyber bullying can be done in different forms over various online platform, for example:

1. Sending, sharing, posting vulgar messages or harmful or false information on:

  • Social Media ( Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter etc)
  • SMS (text messages from cellular network)
  • Instant Message Services (Whatsapp, Facebook messenger, I message etc.)
  • Email

2. Threatening to commit act of violence,
3. Hacking into others account,
4. Stalking by means of calls, messages, etc

If any student/s, group of students or employee/s found to be involved directly, indirectly or supporting it, will be dealt with the severely and the disciplinary action will initiate against them and it may result in rustication / termination from the university.
