Slam Surface
Thesis project with experiments done in Japan at Tokai University
The Slam Surface helps gamers deal with sudden game rage outburst by allowing them to release their energy in a non- destructive manner. It is a cover for the keyboard and mouse, having sensors inside which are activated when slammed over a certain impact threshold. When slammed, a sound or smell is released which helps the gamer calm down by giving him a sense of winning. This concept can help gamers save lots of money by not destroying their gaming equipment; and to also help them control their anger in the long run.
Fm ϴ (Frontal Midline theta) brain activity experiments were conducted on 5 subjects in Takao Lab in Tokai University, Japan. The subjects’ brain activity for Fm ϴ was recorded for two games (QWOP and Tetris) for 5 minutes each.
The result of the comparison between the readings from both the games should be less than 0.05 to use them for further experiments.
