We are pleased to announce the setting up of a Creative Cluster at the Sushant University, which is envisioned to be an integration of the three schools: School of Art and Architecture, School of Design and School of Planning and Development.
The three creative schools are intrinsically linked elements of a single phenomenon – Design.
The integration works at multiple levels – philosophical, practice and administrative, facilitating transdisciplinary, constructive and barrier-free exchange of knowledge, experience and skills.
Within this knowledge ecosystem, intriguing and innovative spill-overs take place when new ideas and technologies developed by one school are applied in other schools, and sometimes even outside the cluster in a wider education sector and design industry.
Thus, the creative cluster aims to be an educational and cultural melting pot, with a huge potential for the sector, industry and profession. The fundamentals that drive the cluster schools are Creativity, Innovation and Engagement.

Prof (Dr.) Koshalpreet Kaur – Associate Dean, School of Design
Koshalpreet Kaur holds a Ph.D. in Fashion Design. Her career has spanned more than 18 years and she has worked across domains as a researcher, educator, and industry expert. She has published her research works in various national and international journals and has also attended numerous international conferences. She was a keynote speaker at the Global Fashion Conference, Poland; 24 Design Conference, Italy; The Indo Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Blue Green Days, Naples to name a few. She also has done prestigious projects related to designing uniforms for Indian Naval Schools, Spice Jet, etc., and has a patent on designing functional clothing along with AIIMS and IIT Delhi.
While her experience in academics gives her the necessary skills to strategize and roll out programmes with focus on Design Thinking, Design Methods and Design Research, her exposure in the field enables the translation of those strategies into real-time, responsive design projects with international edge.
As an educator, Koshalpreet has been instrumental in setting up programmes in design as per international standards. Starting with NILA, NIFT, IIT Delhi and GD Goenka University, Koshalpreet has held multiple positions in various institutions and has the pulse of the research and design education ecosystem in her hands. As a design educator and strategist, her focus is on higher education and its relevance in creating responsible professionals for future needs and challenges.
She drives the programmes at School of Design, Sushant University with a future-oriented outlook and with the goal of making it one of the best design schools in the country.
