Sushant University Business Students Explore Amul: A Glimpse into India's Dairy Giant

Students from BBA, BCom, and MBA programs at Sushant University's School of Business embarked on an enlightening industrial visit to Amul, India's leading food marketing organization. They gained hands-on insights into diverse departments of the dairy production facility, learning about milk processing, quality checks, packaging, and more. Divided into groups, students toured the facility, witnessing automated processes, and engaged in interactive sessions with experts, deepening their understanding of Amul's journey to dairy prominence.

Exploring Real-World Operations: SoB's Industrial Visit to Parle Products Pvt Ltd.

The School of Business, Sushant University, arranged a revealing industrial visit to Parle Products Pvt Ltd. on August 9, 2023, exclusively for BBA/B.Com 1st-year students. The visit offered a valuable glimpse into actual organizational operations at PARLE BISCUITS PRIVATE LIMITED in Bahadurgarh, Haryana. Students gained practical insights into diverse aspects like marketing, production, finance, customer relations, and inventory management, enhancing their understanding of the FMCG sector. Coordinated by Dr. Nidhi and Dr. Ashish, the visit bridged theoretical knowledge with real-world experience, fostering an enriched learning journey.

Industrial Visit to Jai Bharat Maruti Limited

It was a wonderful and enriching experience for all the students to visit the first plant of Jai Bharat Maruti Limited, Gurugram on 11 April, 2023. The Vice President, HR took the students on a virtual tour of the journey of JBM, its processes, its clients and its culture. After that, they were guided by the Plant’s head and were taken to the plant sightseeing where they saw the robotic operations.

Students were engrossed in the sight of watching big robots working, they had queries that were fully answered by the company people all through the visit. JBM hospitality was also amazing, they served tea, biscuits and provided lunch as well. INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO OM LOGISTICS, BINOLA GURUGRAM HARYANA (MBA and BBA)

Keeping this in mind Sushant School of Business organized an Industrial visit to Om Logistics in Gurgaon, Haryana, on Friday, 19th April 2023. This visit improved the student’s knowledge of various methods used in the organization in logistics management and supply chain management techniques presently being used in the industry. The primary objective of this visit was to make the students aware of the working of logistics operations, the FIFO method used in an organization and how the entire layout can be structured in a way that there is minimal movement of material and optimal utilization of the floor. All the students were of the opinion that this kind of company visit would be very useful to students to learn and develop academic projects in quite an effective manner

Industrial Visit to ACC Cement Factory Bilaspur, H.P. and Trip to Manali-Kasol

To strengthen our industry connection, the School of Business (SoB) in collaboration with the Corporate resource center (CRC) has successfully organized an industrial visit to Coca Cola factory for newly enrolled students on 17 August 2022.

At the beginning of the tour, the orientation session was conducted to familiarize the students with Coca-Cola's journey, historical background, a number of products, and quality standards. Finally, it shows the whole process of production along with the organization's corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. We would like to express our gratitude to Prof. J.S. Mukul, Dr. Atul Kumar Agarwal, Dr. Priyanka Pradhan, and all the members for their valuable contributions.

Industrial Visit to Escorts

Sushant University practices real-life exposure for a better learning experience. Keeping this as an instrumental way of learning, School of Business, organized an Industrial visit to "Escorts" Faridabad, Haryana, on Saturday, 27 November 2021. The students of BBA alongwith two members of faculty, visited Escorts Tractor Factory to understand the process of making tractors from its initial stage of drawing raw materials to the final stage of rolling out.
The students were taken to visit the industrial area, where the process of tractor making was taking place. It was a treat to the eyes for all. Each and every student was spellbound after seeing the amazing work done by all the managers, workers, and the supporting staff. The well coordinated work, be it machines or the employees was incredible. A video was also shown presenting the history of Escorts and the manufacturing process. Some splendid career guidance tips given by the managers made the visit more fruitful. They also shed light on the various policies and steps taken to flourish the industry. It was all in all a wonderful experience of learning with real-life exposure.

Report on Industrial Visit @ Mother Dairy, Delhi on 25.11.2021

School of Business, Sushant University, organized an Industrial Visit to the plant of Mother Dairy at Patparganj, Delhi, on the 25th of November, 2021, for its B.Com. and MBA first year students.
As a welcome gesture, the students were served with its special flavored milk. This was followed by a detailed interaction about milk production and the history of Mother Dairy, by the Officials of the company, who explained the inception and the operations with respect to procuring, processing, packaging and distribution of their products. It was an interactive session where every query of the students was answered. To get an insight into the process graphically, a video was also shown to the visitors. The best attraction was the visit to the production area, where the visitors witnessed the humungous milk containers known as SILOS, which are capable of storing upto 1 lakh liters of milk.
Before bidding farewell everyone was treated with delicious ice creams.

Industry Expert series

School of Business started with an Industry expert Series in May, 2021 inviting Young Corporate Achievers on board sharing their knowledge with the students covering different areas.

IES#1

Mr. Chitanshu Mandhar, International Project Consultant. Mr. Mandhar deliberated upon “Project management & Digital transformation”. This session was attended by the students of SOB. PhD Scholars and students from other domains. The session was well appreciated by the audience.

Mr. Aakash Kumar, Strategy Consultant at Wipro. Mr. Kumar explained the changed corporate scenario and deliberated upon “Workforce Analytics”. This session was specifically been kept for the students who are on the verge of getting placed or are going for their summer internship program.

Mr. Abhijeet Singh, Financial Journalist at Kalkine Solutions Pvt. Ltd. addressed the students of SoB on a very intriguing topic. He provided the students with microscopic specifics about the volatility in the Indian stock market. This session turned out be a grand success as the students learnt a lot from the rich experience of the guest.

Dr. Savita Mandhar, Executive Officer (Haryana), Ayushmaan Bharat was the fourth speaker of this series. Dr. Mandhar elaborated on the Crisis Management during Pandemic. She discussed about the bet models available in India. This session was specifically been kept for educating the students about handling the crisis situation during Pandemic and also, how government is helping masses during this pandemic.

The keynote speaker of the webinar was Mr. Sandeep Rana (Manager, HR) Hygienic Research Institute Pvt. Ltd. It was an interactive session where the students and faculties were asking questions related to the campus placement and working culture. The discussion also provided insights about the key skills the employers are looking for in the fresh graduates especially in post covid era.

Industrial visits and guest lectures from industry experts are integral part of B.Com.(Hons.) Curriculum in Sushant University, Sector-55 Golf Course Road, Gurugram. The students here are required to for guest lecture and industrial visits for every course that they study. Such activities help the students to have practical exposure in the areas of their study. This also helps to minimize the gap between bookish/theory knowledge and the practical knowledge.

School of Business (SOB) organized a visit for MBA students to Azure Power – it’s a global independent power producer on 10th Oct 2019. The visit included two sessions, one for Compensation and Benefits where students learned about all HR Practices at Azure Power and also experienced hands-on practice on Compensation along with all the performance appraisal systems. The second session was for Learning and Development which was started by team-building activity followed by a training and development activity. It was an enduring visit for students.
School of Business organized an Industrial visit to Escorts Agri Machinery, Faridabad on October 25, 2019.
Visit to an Audit Firm by Students of School of Business, Sushant University, Gurugram.
A Batch of the students of B.Com.(Hons.) 2nd Year, went to an audit firm, Arora Prem & Associates in Gurugram to have practical exposure in auditing. CA Manav Prem gave the students the practical exposure regarding auditing. The students came to know how to read financial statements of a business firm. The students were found to be keen to learn the things as they posed questions on audit procedure, etc. The students were also explained the relevant things in auditing with help of bills and vouchers used therein. Overall it was great learning for the students as they were able to correlate the theory to the practice.
Visit to Amul for the students of BBA on October 17, 2019. The students got an opportunity to see the process of how milk is procured from Gujarat, Banas and further processed into Full Cream, Toned and Double Toned.
Visit to Shahi Exports (Sarla Mills) India’s largest apparel manufacturer and exporter on October 11, 2019.
Students of MBA Sem I and Bcom sem I visited Bisleri Plant, Sahibabad on 23rd September, 2019. The students saw Production and Operations at the plant. Insights were shared on market strategy and sustainable plant operations at Bisleri.
A visit was organized to Labour Courts in Gurugram for Students from MBA final year HR specialization 26th September, 2019 and witnessed live proceeding in the court under Additional District Judge – Amrit Singh.
Visit to Roseate a luxury resort in New Delhi, on October 7, 2019 for MBA students. A premium hotel chain that offers quality services to cater to the new generation needs of cosmopolitan guests carving a niche in the hospitality industry.
