Bachelor of Planning
The programme endeavours to establish the important role of physical planning to achieve the highest quality of life in the city and regional spaces, along with their growth. The programme has its roots in theories and principles of Urban and Regional Planning and endeavours to educate planners capable of responding to new age development challenges.
Eligibility
- The candidates should have passed the qualifying examination with 50 % marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in aggregate in class 12 or equivalent*
*As per the Government of India rules, these norms may be relaxed for SC and ST candidates.

The programme endeavours to establish the important role of physical planning to achieve the highest quality of life in the city and regional spaces, along with their growth. The programme has its roots in theories and principles of Urban and Regional Planning and endeavours to educate planners capable of responding to new age development challenges. The Bachelor of Planning (Urban and Regional) at SPD will train students to be professionals who will be able to bridge the gap between the Physical/Spatial Planning and the natural environment in order to give our immediate environs some meaning and a shared purpose, encourage a symbiotic relationship between them all, and ultimately encourage the nurturing, management and maintenance of our built and natural infrastructure. We embrace the idea of thinking, doing, telling and applying into the curriculum structure, spread across eight semesters. The studio exercises bridge between social, economic and environmental factors with planning being the common denominator.
