Dr. Ajay Kumar is currently Inspector with Delhi police, handling the court and jail matters of Undertrial prisoners (UTPs) /convicts/detenues lodged in various Jails across Delhi.
He has served as Dean (Academics), Dean (Law) & Associate Registrar at Maharishi University, Noida. He was formerly with JIMS Law School, Amity Law School and CP Jain College of Higher Studies (under GGS IP University, New Delhi). He was heading the NRI Cell at National Commission for Women, Govt. of India. He also headed the RTE {Complaints} at the National Commission of Protection of Child Rights, Govt. of India. An Alumni of Xiamen Academy of International Law, PR of China, he has presented papers on both national and international forums including at UN (Geneva) University of Hull (UK), University of Connecticut (USA), University of New South Wales (Australia), University of Oslo ( Norway), JIBS ( Sonepat) etc.
A Parliamentary Fellow (GoI), he was invited as Individual Expert on Crime by UNODC for the UN Congress on Crime Prevention & Criminal Justice held in Thailand (2005) and Mexico (2015). He is heading the Indian Chapter of Citizens United for Rehabilitation of Errants (CURE), a US based NGO holding special consultative status with ECOSOC (UN). He is Visiting Faculty with Indian Society of International Law, New Delhi and also takes regular lectures at Delhi Police Academy, Delhi Police.
His area of interest includes Human rights, Criminal justice, Police Reforms, Victimology, Administrative Law etc wherein he holds an experience incorporating Laws in theory and laws in practice.
