I, Drishti Kumar, am currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Sushant University, where I am dedicated to creating an inclusive, empathetic, and student-centric learning environment. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from IGNOU and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Human Resource Management from the University of Delhi, both with First Division. My experience spans across various counselling and community-based roles, including work as a Student Counselor with the Directorate of Education (DoE), Intern Counselor at Mind Detox Centre, and Communication Associate at Helping Hands NGO. Across these roles, I have worked extensively in counselling, behavioral assessment, case management, group sessions, and mental-health-based community engagement.
At Sushant University, I am engaged in teaching undergraduate psychology courses, mentoring students, guiding research, designing course content, and contributing to departmental and institutional initiatives related to mental health and student well-being. My professional strengths lie in effective communication, empathy development, active listening, and problem-solving, which reflect my commitment to supporting students’ holistic growth.
I aspire to continue advancing my expertise in counseling and psychological education, contributing meaningfully to teaching, research, and student development.
