Short Biography
Tapan Moharana (b.1989) in Odisha, is a multidisciplinary artist and educator lives and works in New Delhi, India. He has received his MFA (2013) in Sculpture from Rabindra Bharati University. His artistic practice engages and questions the notion of land, displacement, and the politics of ecology. Moharana's current practice influenced and develops through amalgamations of various local and indigenous art forms like shadow play and shadow theater in his neighborhood. He is also working with painting, photography, sculptural installations there are also performing arts like shadow puppetry etc from last a diced. He represented by the different respected institutions and art galleries around the world, The Apre art house, Mumbai in resent.
He has experiences work with NGOs and institutions, like Katha India ,Purorpuse, KIIT, etc . Currently he is teaching as visiting faculty for sculpture at Sushant University, Gurugram.

Interested in alternative art practice and new media along with traditional mediums.
