Short Biography

Sehba Saleem is an alumnus of Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi (2014). She holds a degree in Masters of Architecture in Urban Regeneration and Bachelors in Architecture from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi (2011).

Sehba Saleem is an academician and an architect having experience in Urban & Regional Planning. Her area of interests is urban planning, urban design, conservation and sustainable urbanization of towns also in areas of rural settlements for ecologically sensitive development and environmental sustainability. As an educator she has a strong working experience of seven years in which five years as assistant professor in Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi and two years in Royal University of Bhutan on deputation by Ministry of External Affairs. In both the universities her key role was to encourage research and develop teaching methodology along with managing other extra-curricular activities. She also has industrial experience of three years, working on different projects ranging from Turkish project, residential, housing to commercial interiors and 3D animations/walkthrough. Her main role was to organize her team and meet the deadline of project deliverables, interaction with clients and making presentation which was self-explanatory towards the project she had been made in charge of. She had conducted research and investigation regarding cities' urban morphology with focus on spatial equity in urban planning and sustainable development across geographies along with the coastal disaster rehabilitation strategies. She was also involved in various community awareness programs related to environment and climate change. She has a keen interest in research and have published papers in various journals and conference proceedings. She had also been awarded best speaker, resource person and best presenter.

Her hobbies are hiking, trekking, and exploring the indigenous Himalayan settlements, art and culture of Vernacular geographies. Her core competency is her way of looking out for solution for her students or colleagues. She has patients, listen to things calmly and rather than enforcing her thought on other, she tries to explain the situation with all the possible outcome so that the person can himself/herself can decide what will be the best way to move ahead.
