Short Biography

Dr. Purva Mujumdar is an educator and researcher with Civil Engineering background having a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering (2008) and a PhD in Civil Engineering with a focus on Construction Management (2017) from IIT Delhi. She has a keen interest in Smart and Sustainable Structures, Planning and Scheduling in Construction, BIM and Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality, Design-Construction Interface Management and Design Automation. Before joining Academics, Dr. Mujumdar has worked in Buildings Sector (Chicago, USA) and Highway Infrastructure Sector (Delhi & Gurgaon, India) as a Structural Design Engineer. She has worked on a DST (Department of Science & Technology) funded research project as a doctoral research fellow and have 15+ research publications and a software prototype tool (Automation of design phase in construction projects) to her credit. She has also authored book chapters in Smart Innovation, Systems and Technologies book series (SIST, Vol 35) and Advances in Structural Engineering: Mechanics (Volume 1). She has also co-mentored a Start-up Action Project on Automation & Robotics in Construction as well as an NPTEL course on Scheduling Techniques in Projects at IIT Delhi. Dr. Mujumdar teaches Structural Systems and Design since 2020 at School of Art & Architecture, Sushant University.
