INDO – THAI WORKSHOP
Student exchange program between School of Architecture & Design (SoA+D), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Thailand and Sushant School of Design (SSD), Ansal University, India is part of an ongoing academic collaboration between the two institutions.
Under this collaboration, the following events took place:
- Indo-Thai Workshop on Global-Local Culture-Based Design” SSD, India organized an Indo-Thai Workshop on Global-Local Culture-Based Design from 13-22nd August 2018 with KMUTT, Thailand.
The focus was on design with paper mache craft of Madhubani, Bihar. Students of both the countries worked together to develop products based on themes and stories.
- Exchange Program for three students of industrial design, KMUTT, Thailand and product design, SSD, India. Students Ploynicha Kamolthong (Dia),Nachapon Harntawornchaikij (Nut), Phanuroj Chalermkijporntavee (Pepper), presented their work at SSD. The students worked on a project under Ms. Surabhi Khanna’s guidance and completed an internship at “Inline”, a studio run by Prof. Mike Knowles. The final outcome was appreciated. Our students Nilay Sagar, Nivedita Johri and Amit Raj successfully completed the exchange program in Thailand and two students have been offered internships at KMUTT after the exchange program.
