Research @ SU in the Evolving Educational Ecosystem

In the wake of National Education Policy 2020 a major thrust has been given for the impetus of quality research in India. The formation of National Research fund is envisaged as a sustained effort to build the right ecosystem for research .A reliable merit based equitable research funding, suitable incentives to award outstanding work, merit based peer evaluation of research work, patent applications to facilitate and strengthen ties between industry and academia are aimed to foster conducive research culture to be permeated in our universities.

National Education policy also emphasizes a multidisciplinary approach in education and the need to nurture inquisitive minds to develop analytical and critical thinking skills which is perceived as harbinger of change in the long term research endeavor.

Sushant University, the leading private university of Gurugram has always promoted research culture for faculty as well as students to augment critical thinking and hands on learning. Recently the establishment of Centre for research is a blazing example of implementing the national education policy in letter and spirit.

One more endeavor which put research in the forefront was to felicitate the distinguished faculty who contributed in quality research and the publication of patents. Some of the patents were path breaking for value edition and the larger cause of community and the society. To example a few, some of the initiatives were to extend aid for certain disadvantaged people such as low cost voice enabled multi sense smart stick for visually impaired persons, a cost effective device which is mounted with multiple sensors like obstacle, light, water level etc. and highly useful for millions of blind persons worldwide. Another patent was a low cost currency identifier for visually impaired persons. To save the human effort and a lot of time a low cost GSM based smart switch for irrigation purpose, highly beneficial for farmers.

Constantly striving to promote research for knowledge creation, sustainable development through innovation and community service, SU remains Ahead for Life.
