NOS Plan 2022

NOS Plan is an organization to develop the community of planning students for becoming better planning professionals of tomorrow. The purpose of NOS Plan is to drive improvements in the state of planning education in India. It also aims to provide a platform for networking for all students of planning. Colleges all around India annually place their bids to become the host college where NOS Plan shall take place for the year. The host college for the year 2022, was Nitte School of Architecture Planning & Design, Bangalore. A total of 21 colleges took part in this year’s event. As for us from School of Planning and Development (SPD), 20 people comprising of 19 students and one faculty, Dr. Himadri Dey set out on the journey to Bangalore from Delhi via rail. Though it was a long train journey to our destination, but it presented itself as a golden opportunity for seniors and juniors to really connect and bond with each other. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, although next time all of us would surely take a flight for the next time without a second thought!!

The 3 days long NOS Plan event had a number of activities lined up for us to participate. Although we faced some difficulties in terms of events happening simultaneously yet we managed to participate in almost all the events.

There were a number of formal and informal events organized throughout the NOSPlan. Informal events like fashion show, dance, nukkad natak and several sports events gave us an opportunity to take a break during these days of serious competitiveness.

The competitions started in the morning after the breakfast, so all of us would go to their respective competitions and give their best shot. Events such as YATRA MITRA, CITY TOO HOT, CRIME PREVENTION THROUGH PLANNING tested the presentation and assessment skills of the students, while other events such as THINK AND CREATE, MODEL MAKING, PLAY WITH COLOR gave us a chance to showcase our creative skills. Events like debates and quiz challenged the quick thinking skills of the participants. Thus, overall the event was a mix of variety of activities for students to participate.

After the 3 day event the results were announced and our college proudly stood fourth overall !!

Participating in such a national level competition gave us an experience for our lifetime, where not only did we grow professionally but also personally through peer learning. The spirit of the event was such that the students who did not go for the competition even they participated in some online activities and helped us to prepare for the various competitions. Those who did visit the event physically had the opportunity to interact with planning students from other colleges all around the country and got to know about the planning field a bit more.

Winners or not NOS Plan was an event to cherish for life.
