Lockdown blues and woes among university students

Department of medical radiology and imaging technology , School of Health Sciences, Sushant University which is one of the leading universities of Delhi-NCR, organised an expert talk on lockdown blues and woes among university students .Speaker of the lecture was Dr.Apurva Chatterjee.

The event was based on the students’ experience during the lockdown and the negative impact on their studies as well as their personal experience. The event started with the introduction of the Director of School of Health Sciences, Dr.Rahul Sharma. He brings in 21 years of national and international experience in both private healthcare and hospital sector in India .He has multi-diversified healthcare experience in working with corporate hospitals, diagnostics and NGO sector. He has been the core senior management team member in establishing business operations of Marie Stopes International NGO in Rajasthan and UP. Currently leading the school of health sciences in Sushant University. Dr. Rahul Sharma talked on the topic that how the students felt disconnected from studies and other activities during this lockdown and thanked the speaker for taking this problem forward taking out solutions out of it. The event was then followed by introduction of programme head of radiology Ms.Jyoti.D, where she talked about the impact of lockdown towards mental issues among young students. Moreover, she also thanked the speaker for talking on the most awaited topic that all were looking forward.

Following this, the speaker was introduced ,Dr.Apurva Chatterjee, who has several years of clinical as well as academia experience, several remarkable achievements . She has done her bachelors and Masters in neuro physiotherapy from University of Delhi .She also holds a diploma in International health welfare technology and dementia VIA university, Denmark.

The webinar started with the brief introduction of the topic that was about the blues and woes that was faced by the university students and what problems they were going through during those days. Dr. Apurva gave a very good presentation on this topic explaining all issues and their solution that how the students can come over the problems that they are having. Moreover, on the other side there were many plus points also like students nourished their talents during those days. Many of the students starting reading books or have started sketching up. Expert session went on by discussing all these kind of stuff.

After this, all the students asked questions to the expert like difficulty in attending online classes or having some severe mental issues due to this lockdown. Dr.Apurva gave very satisfactory answers to all the students and what should they do to overcome all their stress and worries.

The event ended with the thank you note by Director Dr.Rahul Sharma and Ms.Jyoti.D to Dr.Apurva for taking out some of her time discussing on this issue.
