Youth of Today

Dear ‘Youth of Today’,

I have a few messages to share with you. You are a generation that is blessed with awareness, is superbly multi-talented, possess excellent resources, and has successfully survived one of the biggest pandemics of the age – in short -YOU are a powerhouse of dynamism. There’s no stopping for you to reach great heights of success; however, there are still some pointers that you must consider to achieve all that you deem significant and worth living for.

“What is learned in youth is carved in stone.”

– Arab proverb

So, I implore you to learn new hobbies and skills. With the explosion of technology and consequently gadgets you may feel as if there’s hardly any time for all this, isn’t it? Remember that all is not reel in this real world. Don’t become the Mario of the videogame instead reduce unproductive screentime to learn to swim or play the guitar or even go on a trek.  Embrace technology not simply for the purpose of entertainment but with the purpose to upskill and develop yourself.

“Inspiration is like lightning; you never know when it will strike.”

Look for inspiration in things/people/situations around you. Follow and read about the success stories of successful people like Dhoni, Mary Kom, Sneh Desai, Ritesh Agarwal, Tilak Mehta, Shaheen Mistry and more. Their struggles, determination, willpower and attitude will provide you with powerful insights to transform your dreams into reality. Dreaming big is important but you need the right knowledge, attitude and competency to achieve them. Inculcating a disciplined approach towards your goal will be helpful in this respect.

“Choose your friends wisely- they will make or break you.”

-J. Willard Marriott

Having good friends is a great blessing. They are the ones who know you inside out -your goodness as well as your shortcomings and still love you.  They can inspire you, support you in times of need and also offer stellar advice without bias. Hence, it’s important to choose friends wisely- don’t mistake people who love to hang out with you for fun but aren’t adding any emotional or intellectual value to your life- as friends. Friends help bring the best in you and will stick with you through thick and thin.

“You will never have enough until you are grateful for what you have.”

― Richelle E. Goodrich

Do you realise the fact that we don’t even know what’s going to happen to us the next second -forget the next day/year? So be thankful that you are alive and breathing, fortunate to see the sunrise yet another day, hug your family, say ‘Hello’ to your friends, bask in the glory of God’s creation and so much more. Count your blessings and not your challenges- each of these are opportunities to catapult you towards the trajectory of success.

These, my friends, are my thoughts which I humbly share with you today-with an earnest hope that you will make the best of the beautiful and precious gift bestowed upon you- ‘LIFE’!

Keep learning, inspiring, being grateful and yes, smile your way to success!
