Now Women’s Empowerment and equality does not come by providing women better opportunities than men, by doing this you are already showcasing that they belong to a different category and they need more support, henceforth proving them weak. Instead, we should provide exactly the same opportunities that we give to a man.
Providing safer seats in a metro or bus for women would not change a single thing, instead, we should work upon the mentality of men who think that providing them different coaches or seats would make them less vulnerable.
More than working upon women empowerment we should work upon the male mentality, and then automatically after that woman would be 100 times safer.
Even today, in many cities’ girls, feel uncomfortable wearing short dresses and roaming openly on the streets because even though we might have developed in every way, our mentality would still remain cheap and poor.
Women empowerment would only be successful when we normalize considering them an equally powerful gender as male. Even today, our society is male-dominated because we think that it’s only the physical strength that matters to be in power, there are live examples out there where women ruthlessly shattered male egos by overtaking them physically as well as in intelligence too.
Moreover, even if a man considers himself the greatest, he has to realize it was a woman who gave birth to that Hero because a “HERO is Incomplete without HER”
If a male exposes his body part it is considered manly but if the same thing is done by a woman, it is considered cheap and sexual because we have stereotypically given women the label of sexual objects. This all may sound very brutal and rude but it’s the reality of today’s society.
Today women might be having all the opportunities
equal to men, but the mentality which is hiding within society is still the greatest barrier amongst all which can only be destroyed when we will remove the sexual label from them.
The day we normalize this mentality and consider women as powerful, as smart, as good as a man, that would be the day of actual women empowerment and equality.
Although the cases related to women’s harassment might have been reduced, they are not yet over. In rural areas and even in many developed cities girls have to undergo domestic violence almost every day.
To all those so-called empathetic members of the society who think that women should always work under male dominance, just put yourself in her situation and you will regret how did you even think of that.
At last, I would like to conclude by saying that “In this Fairytale the princess saves herself”
